This is a great opportunity for a senior HV electrical engineer in the Kent area to join our global renewable energy client. As part of Europe’s largest O&M fleet, the purpose of this role is to maintain Solar plants in an optimum operating conditions.
You will be responsible for:
Adhere to all HSE procedures at all times and play an active role in Risk Assessment. Induct, train and develop Field Service Technicians and Engineers (FSEs) ensuring their full awareness, understanding and compliance with method statements and work instructions. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of: electrical components. inverters (i.e. thermal analysis, performance analysis).
You must have
A sound working knowledge of HSE legislation including HSE at Work Act and Construction Design and Management Regulations. Time served as Electrician. Solid knowledge of understanding risk. assessments, method statements, etc. Open to using collective knowledge and guidance, however can also work on own initiative. Can be relied on as part of the team. Can conduct basic fault finding and diagnostics. Capable of attending a site, identify faults, diagnose them, and perform repairs accordingly. Excellent, habitual report writing and IT skills. Knowledge of HV systems; must be a minimum of AP3 level or close to obtaining. Expert level knowledge of multiple inverter types Industrial PV installation maintenance experience. Thorough understanding of PV O&M maintenance techniques and standards including electrical tests and thermographic inspections. High Voltage (HV) Switching experience. Knowledge of network infrastructure (e.g. LAN, routers, switches). Ability to write and review risk assessments and method statements. Education and Qualifications
Qualified electrician; BS7671 and Level 3 Electrical NVQ or appropriate equivalent (apprenticeship completed, IET, etc). Relevant experience performing PV O&M. IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent. SSSTS Site Supervisor or equivalent. Attendance at several manufacturers’ inverter level training courses. Capable of HV authorisation to a minimum AP3 level. A recognized electrical qualification such as City and Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition), would be an advantage. Testing and inspection certification 2391 is an advantage
